Move-In Procedures

Thank you for choosing Bald Eagle Mountain Housing. This form was designed to help our students as they move into their new house. These guidelines will also help them keep the house in the condition necessary for us to return their security deposit in its entirety. Before you come to Williamsport, to move in, we recommend the following supplies.

1. Purchase adhesive felt and place it on all furniture (beds, tables, couches, chairs etc.) where it would have contact with the floor. You may not see damage now but over time furniture can be moved and cause damage that you will be responsible for later.

2. Purchase padding or no slip grip and put under all carpets or rugs. Over time carpet, without protection, will remove coatings (painted or other) from floors.

3. Purchase 3M hangers with pull tab easy removal systems or stick tack putty. Do not use nails, duck tape, tape, tacks or other adhesives. These may cause damage that would be deducted from your security.

4. Purchase 33 gallon, or larger, garbage bags. Garbage must be in at least 33 gallon bags to meet the requirements of garbage pick up.

5. If you or your friends smoke. Purchase several outside containers for cigarette disposal. You will be responsible for upholding the no smoking policy of this house. All smoking is prohibited in the house. All cigarettes must be disposed in appropriate fire proof containers and not in the yard. Fines can be assigned if this rule is broken.

6. Post the recycling list at your residence and follow it strictly if you wish for Bald Eagle Mountain Housing to remove your garbage. Please contact us if you do not wish to participate in the recycling program.

7. Take pictures of the house before you move in your belongings. Create a list of any imperfections in the apartment and hand them into Bald Eagle Mountain Housing within 10 days after move in. Be very picky. This list will be placed in your file and referenced at the end of your lease period with us to determine what damage was present at the start of your lease. Caution: If a list is not submitted, within 10 days, then all damages found at the end of your lease term will be considered new.

8. Banners, street signs and the like are not permitted on the walls. Please review your lease for a complete listing of items prohibited at your residence.

9. Furniture (couches and other inside furniture) are not permitted outside of the house. This is a Williamsport Code violation. Items will be removed and you will be charged for their disposal.

10. Inspections are performed sporadically throughout the school year. These are performed to ensure that the house is meeting our requirements for health and a safety as well as for checking the condition of the house and its operation.

11. Parties and alcohol are strictly prohibited. Any Occurrence will not be tolerated and a fine of $1,000.00 will be due immediately.

12. Unruly behavior or damage to the house can be considered destruction of property and disturbance of the peace and will be filed and reported with the Williamsport and Penn Tech Police.

Fair = things are not completely clean and need additional cleaning or has damage to it. (requires explanation in writing if used)

Poor = visible filth and grime and is completely unacceptable (requires explanation, in writing, if this is used) .
